Our History
A special State Statute established the Parking Authority in 1957. An autonomous, quasi-municipal agency, the Parking Authority receives no funding from the City. User fees from parking permits, meters, garage fees and violations generate operating revenue.
A five-member Board, appointed by the Mayor, oversees the authority. The Board meets monthly to review financial statements and conduct new business. Day to day operations are the responsibility of the Director, who reports to the Board.
